Whether a not an individual or family is eligible for a premium Subsidy, a Tax Credit or Medicaid depends on whether their annual household income falls within or under a certain percentage of the Federal Poverty Level. The Federal Poverty Level (FPL) is defined as a uniform measure of income that is adjusted for inflation and released every year by the Department Of Health And Human Services (HHS). Below is a chart to determine where you sit on the FPL.
If you earn between 133% and 400% of the FPL you may be eligible for a federal premium subsidy. Over 400% with reference to your Family Size, you will not likely be eligible for a premium subsidy. If you earn under 250% of the FPL, you may also be eligible for “Additional Cost-Sharing” which will lower your deductible and/or co-pays.
For Arizona Residents, if you earn less than 133% of the FPL you may be eligible for Medicaid. If you’re income falls into these Medicaid categories, please contact your local hospital for Medicaid enrollment assistance at (928) 472.1271.
